Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)

POI comes from English and means point of interest, i.e. generally interesting/important place. Regarding the app, these include, for example, peaks, towns and viewpoints.

If the loading bar is visible on the right-hand side of the screen, your position could not yet be determined. You may be inside a building, in a valley, or in bad weather conditions.

Make sure your compass is accurate and check that the altitude displayed is correct. Also note that even the sensors in the latest devices can never determine 100% accurate alignment. A few degrees of deviation can often only be corrected by manual correction.

The compass can be deflected by magnetic fields, among other things, and must then be recalibrated. This can occur, for example, due to a magnetic device cover or general magnetic fields in the environment. Follow the instructions for calibrating your device in the compass view. To do this, click on the compass in the information bar on the right.

Using the correction button in the upper left corner, you can manually change the position of the POIs vertically and horizontally to compensate for inaccuracies of the sensors. These corrections remain saved and are applied to all POIs.
